2022 Stories of Impact
Grace & Rae
Grace and Rae encountered Kaleidoscope at Harlem Pride. They attended one of our hangouts at an LGBTQ+ bar on the Upper East Side, but they soon became busy with Grace's acting career and Rae's work schedule. They never would have guessed what came next. Hear how Kaleidoscope supported Rae and Grace during an unexpected challenge.
Jenny
Jenny grew up thinking about her Christian faith and her queerness as being separate. Recently, she has been on a journey to integrate the two. Hear how Kaleidoscope's LGBTQ+ Bible Study helped her see that queer people like her belong in God's story and chosen family, can identify with God's people in the Bible, and can come to God with their questions when life isn't so black and white.

Allison & Grey
Allison & Grey recently moved and were looking for churches. One Sunday, they heard a pastor say something that would alienate those in the audience who may be trans or experience gender dysphoria. Prior to the Aspiring Allies cohort, they would have left and not returned, but because of their newfound knowledge and confidence, they knew this situation called for something different – and more redemptive.
Ricky & Krista
Meta Church NYC pastors Krista & Ricky Ortiz met Kaleidoscope’s president Elizabeth Delgado Black at a pastors' gathering in Manhattan. She shared about the Safe Pastor Training, and the couple signed up immediately. Hear how Kaleidoscope’s bridge-building trainings gave these ministry leaders and their congregation clarity and confidence to move beyond "not hurting LGBTQ+ people" to helping our communities heal.
